QUEEN’S PARK – NDP MPPs Wayne Gates (Niagara Falls), Jennie Stevens (St. Catharines), Monique Taylor (Hamilton Mountain), Opposition critic for Children, Community, and Social Services, and Chandra Pasma (Ottawa West – Nepean), Opposition critic for Education, delivered a letter to Michael Parsa, Minister for Children Community and Social Services this morning.
The Niagara Nutrition Partners program has received no increases in funding from the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services in almost 10 years, despite historic inflation.
As a result, 16 of their programs have been paused, with another 30 projected to close. This means that children who rely on these programs for healthy meals will be forced to go without, leaving them with nowhere to turn.
The Ontario NDP are committed to ensuring that these vital programs stay open.
